The Hotel is family owned and managed by
Susan and John Harvey, with their sons Stephen (executive chef) and Mark
(restaurant manager).
Their aim is to provide good food and comfort in an atmosphere of informality, peace and relaxation. Guests can enjoy a holiday or break away from the cares of everyday life. |
| The 12 bedrooms are all en-suite with
shower or bath and shower, colour television, radio, tea/coffee making
facilities and direct dial telephone.
Although the Hotel is centrally heated, electric blankets are provided for the cooler evenings. |

The Restaurant offers friendly service,
freshly prepared foods from a Table d'Hôte or a là Carte menu, and a good
selection of wines.
ln the main bar an extensive menu is available for an informal meal. |

There are many places of historic interest and natural beauty within a short drive of the hotel. These include the dramatic waterfall of Aira Force, historic Dalemain House and Hutton-in-the-Forest, the landscapes of Eden Valley, breathtaking Kirkstone Pass and the beauty of the Cumbrian Mountains. |

Also within easy motoring distance are Carlisle Cathedral, Hadrian's Wall and Gretna Green. The Beatrix Potter Gallery, Wordsworth's Home and John Ruskin's "Brantwood" are some of the many other interesting places to visit.
Outdoor pursuits available nearby include walking, fishing, shooting, pony
trekking, sailing, swimming and windsurfing.
We are situated 2 1/2 miles west of the Market Town of Penrith and 3 miles from
Ullswater, perhaps the most beautiful natural Lake in Cumbria and just two miles
form Junction 40 of the M6 alongside the Keswick Road.
